| conZOOlting nutrition is managed by Helena Marquès, Biologist and Master in Animal Production by the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, Spain. Since 1996 she has been involved in the field of zoo animal nutrition and has assisted and worked as zoo nutritionist at the Barcelona Zoo (Spain) and at the Brookfield Zoo of the Chicago Zoological Society, Brookfield, IL (USA). Since 2002 she has worked as a consultant nutritionist and has assisted many zoos and wildlife recovery and rescue centers to develop and improve their Nutrition Programs at both a national and international level. She has co-authored more than 10 publications at a scientific and divulgate level. She has presented more than 20 talks and workshops on zoo animal nutrition in scientific meetings, university courses and zoos from Europe, Latin America and USA, and she has co-edited and reviewed scientific articles for international journals. She is international liaison of the Nutrition Advisory Group (NAG), and belongs to the Comparative Nutrition Society and the European Nutrition Group. Her main interests are to improve the well being of captive wild animals and to take an active part on in situ and ex situ conservation projects through appropriate nutrition programs and research. | ![]() |

| Andrea Rodríguez Climent is a Marine Biologist by the University Fairleigh Dickinson of New Jersey (USA) in 2003. She did a one year internship at the New York Acuarium as marine mammal keeper. In 2005, she moved to México to collaborate with the Sea Turtle Protection Program. There she worked as conservationist at the Fundación Ecológica Bahía Príncipe undertaking field work, data processing and environmental education. In 2006 she participated in the banding program of passeriformes MAPS in US. From the end of 2006 she is part of the ConZOOlting team working as Assistant nutritionist at the Nutrition Department. She has written several divulgative articles and takes active part in specialized congresses presenting short communications. Her priorities are to enhance the well being of captive animals and support conservation projects through nutrition programs. | ![]() |
